    IATA Launches Platform to Improve Visibility on Air Cargo Infrastructure and Capabilities

    Geneva – The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has launched IATA ONE Source, an online platform which helps the air cargo industry match shipping needs with the availability of infrastructure capabilities and certifications of service providers across the value chain. Read more here.

    OCEAN FREIGHT UPDATES
    Maersk first to cancel GRI and cut transpacific rates as China wades in

    Maersk has reportedly reduced its planned mid-September transpacific GRIs, thought to be due to China’s move to step in to reduce freight rates on the trade.
    Last week, Zest Shipping Media reported that Chinese authorities planned to interfere in pricing and capacity management on the transpacific as rates soared to record highs. Read more here.

    Track Disruption near Hope, BC – Update

    We would like to update you on the status of tracks that were affected by a service disruption as a result of a derailment affecting our mainline near Hope, BC.
    We continue to work diligently at cleaning up the derailment site in order to reopen our tracks. At this time, we expect the track to be passable on Wednesday, September 16th at approximately 16:00 PST. We will continue to reroute traffic and therefore our customers should expect delays until normal operations are restored. Thank for your patience and support.
