Delhi Airport Delays And Diverts Dozens Of Flights Due to Bad Weather

Monday was a rocky day for Delhi Airport, with flights disrupted in the early hours of the morning and again in the night. The city has been hit with storms and winds as fast as 75km/hr during the pre-monsoon rains in recent days. All of this saw over 35 flights diverted to nearby airports and 100s more delayed as Delhi waited for safer conditions. Read more here.

KLM Cancels A Dozen More Flights Amid Staff Shortages

Once again, KLM Airlines is canceling flights at Schiphol airport due to staff shortages. Since January, the airline has been canceling flights because of lack of staff, COVID-related sickness or absenteeism. Both the airline and the airport face challenges in matching staff capacity to flights, as demand for inter-European travel soars. Read more here.

Covid slows China port volume growth, as Tianjin enters new lockdown

Container volumes at China’s ports increased slightly during January-April, despite the impact from widespread Covid restrictions, including another lockdown in Tianjin.
According to China’s ministry of transport, port volumes increased 1.7% year on year during the period, to 91m teu, with 23.6m handled in April alone. Read more here (login required).

FIATA has released a paperless bill of lading (B/L), which can be accessed with existing technology, for the use of its members.The electronic B/L, approved by the International Chamber of Commerce, uses blockchain to authenticate documents and provide an audit trail.
