    Vietnam’s first all-cargo airline is almost ready for take-off. IPP Air Cargo is the brainchild of billionaire Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, chairman of Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPP), which specialises in luxury brand distribution and retail.
    While domestic carriers have launched cargo operations – most notably Vietjet – having seen Vietnam’s airfreight costs soar during the Covid-crisis, Mr Nguyen apparently decided to take matters into his own hands. Read more here.

    Police end blockade that stranded hundreds of trucks in Canada

    Normal traffic has resumed at the Nova Scotia-New Brunswick border in eastern Canada after police removed a protest blockade that left hundreds of trucks with live loads stuck for a day.
    Officers from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrested three people late Wednesday. They were part of a protest over COVID-19 travel restrictions. Read more here.

    CBSA Officers to Vote on Strike Mandate

    The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) continues to work with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to provide an update on ongoing reports of a strike involving CBSA border services officers (BSOs). The agency has clarified that the current vote would be to support a strike mandate, and not for a strike itself at this time. Read more here.

    Europe’s economy is booming as nations cast off crisis shackles

    Europe’s private-sector economy is booming, accompanied by mounting inflation pressures as coronavirus restrictions loosen across the region.
    Surveys of purchasing managers by IHS Markit showed euro-area activity growing at the fastest pace in 15 years, with companies struggling to keep up with demand and prices surging. Read more here.
