    British Airways Airbus A350 Collides With Emirates Boeing 777

    British Airways’ first Airbus A350 has collided with an Emirates Boeing 777 in Dubai. It appears as though the A350 was being pushed back in Dubai when it struck the Emirates aircraft. Read more here.


    Indian Aviation Will Remain Grounded Until May

    The Indian Government will be extending flight suspensions due to the COVID-19 outbreak within its borders. Thus, according to its Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), all domestic and international flights will remain suspended through May 3rd. Read more here.


    Airlines begin pulling passenger seats to make room for cargo

    With a global shortage of air cargo space and extraordinary demand to move emergency medical supplies, some overseas passenger airlines are taking out the seats on aircraft to make more room for freight.

    And U.S. airlines are asking the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for permission to fly cargo in the main deck where passengers normally sit, including the option of removing seats, an industry source familiar with the regulatory situation said. Read more here.

    APM Terminals targets ‘logistics logjams’

    APM Terminals is making storage space available at its five North American container terminals to serve importers facing what it called “logistics logjams” during the coronavirus crisis.
    Fee-based storage will be available at APM Terminals facilities in Mobile, Alabama; Los Angeles; Miami; Elizabeth, New Jersey; and Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico. Read more here.

    Box lines cut one in six ex-Asia intercontinental sailings

    Container lines are cutting around one in six ex-Asia intercontinental sailings on Asia-Europe and transpacific trades, with around 3 million TEU to be taken out on Asia-Europe and transpacific trades combined between week five to the middle of the year, new analysis by Sea-Intelligence indicates – equivalent to 16% of average weekly capacity. Read more here.
