    US Airlines Set To Take A Tough Stand On Mask Wearing

    Airlines for America, a trade association and lobbying group representing major North American airlines, wants to ban passengers who refuse to wear face-coverings inflight. The Washington-based organization has organized its ten member airlines into a coalition that will mandate and enforce stringent new face-covering policies. Read more here.

    EU says cargo can’t fly in cabin with passengers – or can it?

    Cargo and passengers will not be allowed to travel in aircraft cabins at the same time, according to new EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) guidelines.

    Shipping lines tighten up credit terms for ‘financially risky’ NVOCCs

    Ocean carriers are tightening up their credit terms with thousands of smaller NVOCCs [non-vessel-owning common carriers] due to mounting fears that many could go bust due to Covid-19.
    Since the banning of shipping conferences, when credit indiscipline was considered an internal fineable breach of the terms of the rate-setting cartels, many carriers have granted generous credit facilities as an incentive to attract customers. Read more here.

    MSC offers customers a chance to go carbon-neutral with shipments

    MSC is set to roll-out a customer carbon offsetting programme it has been trialling since last year.
    Since early 2019, it has been developing its ‘MSC Carbon Neutral Programme’ with low carbon solutions provider South Pole, which will “deliver measurable benefits aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals”. Read more here.

    Shopify and Walmart team up against Amazon

    Shopify Inc. is upping the ante in its battle against Amazon.com Inc. by aligning itself Walmart Inc. in its fight with the Seattle online retailer.
    The Ottawa-based e-commerce giant, whose software powers online stores for more than one million companies, on Monday announced the partnership, which will allow U.S. merchants to sell their products on Walmart’s website. Read more here.
