    New Tianjin Airlines service flies into Heathrow from Chongqing

    Heathrow has welcomed its first scheduled flight arriving directly from the Chinese city of Chongqing.
    Operated by Tianjin Airlines, the inaugural flight of what is a three times a week A330-200 service landed at the UK’s busiest air gateway this past weekend. Read more here. 
    Cathay Pacific: plenty to look forward to in the Americas

    Fred Ruggiero, vice-president cargo, Americas for Cathay Pacific, has reported on a “very strong year in the Americas so far” for the Hong Kong-headquartered carrier.
    “Our monthly network performance has continued to grow from last year’s base and July was a particularly strong month for transhipment volumes from the US via Hong Kong,” he observed.  Read more here.
    British Airways Adds To London City Fleet

    British Airways will add routes and flight frequencies at London City Airport as it bases more aircraft there during the winter.
    Four additional Embraer E190s will join the airline’s regional carrier BA CityFlyer, taking total fleet numbers for the aircraft to 26. Read more here.

    Geneva, Switzerland — The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), rose 2.1% in July 2018, compared to the same period the year before. Read more here.
