    Vancouver mega terminal blocked by sandpiper migration concerns

    A KEY priority of the Port of Vancouver, the building of a C$2 billion (US$1.5 billion) three mega berth Terminal 2, remains blocked by federal concerns over the migratory habits of the Sandpiper.
    Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), a federal agency, is concerned over the project’s impact on flocks of sandpipers that migrate annually to the South Delta area.  Read more here

    FULL pipelines and rail car and truck driver shortages are hindering the movement of oil out of Canada and across the US border despite a rise in production.
    Crude exports from Canada by road nearly tripled from 2015 to 2017, and continued to rise in the first two months of 2018, according to StatsCan data. Read more here. 
    Frankfurt Airport handlers tackle truck congestion

    Two of Frankfurt Airport’s major cargo handlers, Frankfurt Cargo Services (FCS) and LUG aircargo handling, are pioneering the compulsory use of a truck loading bay slot-booking system at their respective terminals from next month, in a bid to create a more-efficient flow of traffic to and from their warehouses.
